Greggy in Tennessee

This lil’ city boy, born ‘n’ raised in Los Angeles, California, went on his first trip to the south! Did y’all know that Nashville is home to the famous Goo Goo Cluster? I had not just too much, but THREE much fun!  First things first, I can’t stop saying the word “Y’all”…I love it…it’s just SO much easier to say. Why didn’t I think of using that word before?!  Anywhoodle…talk about about true “southern hospitality” -everyone there was just so generous, fun, sweet, beautiful and genuine.  I love-love-love meeting new people and immersing myself in new cultures.

Greggy Soriano's Welcome Window Display at Paige's Pantry by Tim Evans

On Saturday, I taught my Faboo Sweet Sixteen Cake Demo at Paige’s Pantry.  Love-love-loved all of my students who attended the class.  A lot of them were young students in culinary classes offered at their schools, along with their teachers and other cake enthusiasts.   I could see all of their inspired eyes and I totally fed unto their vibe (one of my favorite things).  Such a fun, sweet group of people.  Thank You all for being able to sit for a 6 hour demo and watch me get into my zone/element.  *To those of you who were there that day and pursuing a career in the industry, I wish you all the utmost success and please keep me posted throughout the course of your career.  I love you all. :)

BT-dubs, Paige’s Pantry is such a CUTE store.  Not only does she sell cake decorating and baking supplies, but there is also a clothing design boutique, called Kerried Away Couture, along with photography services.  I definitely recommend stopping by, grabbin’ some fondant, go home ‘n’ make a cake.

That afternoon (after the demo) Paige, Tim and I went to Maple Street Grill (they provided a yummy lunch for the demo that day) and had some drinks.  Thanks Maple Street Grill!  Then, we headed to Arrington Vineyards, had some wine and hung out with the locals.  It was such a fun, social, chill, and romantic scene.  There was a band playing live music under a beautifully lit tent, people dancing, almost as if I crashed a wedding. There were people who brought their own picnic baskets, enjoying really good wine with a GORGE view of the countryside. Apparently, the Raspberry wine paired with truffles are amazing: gotta have that next time. Definitely a must-do if you go to TN. http://www.arringtonvineyards.com/

Tim and Paige Making Ribbon Roses with Greggy Soriano

On Sunday, I did a hands-on class that was so much fun.  We all got into the zone and enjoyed a full day of cake design.  My students learned how to make a Victorian Mauve/Dusty-pink cake, embellished with gumpaste ribbon roses, and lace-like piping.  I hope they realize how gorgeous my students ended up making these cakes.  They all did such a great job!

I also met up with Jay Qualls, who was my cast-mate on Cake Boss: Next Great Baker.  I went to his beautiful home, had din-din, watched The Village (scurrrry) and had warm Chess Pie mmmmm.  I even left with some homemade preserves with fruits, right from his garden.  Thanks Jay, Will ‘n’ Josh. <3

A huge Thank You to Paige from Paige’s Pantry. http://www.shoppaigespantry.com/  Thank You for being such a great host.  Also, a ginormous Thank You to Tim Evans for everything.  I love you guys!

Muah x 3,000…
